Which brake bleed kit to choose?

There is a plethora of brake bleed kits out there, all with numerous caps to fit different master cylinders, but none state which cylinders they will fit.

Can anyone advise which kits have caps that will work with the Stag?

    Many thanks,

    Louise

i dont think any of the bleed kits come with a cap to fit the stag, just buy a spare cap for the stag and use that on the bleed kit,i use the easy bleed kit

          Hi Louise,
I've always used a tube, with a non return valve in one end(basically it's plugged off and has a small split in it)this allows fluid to bleed off but not draw air back in when you let the pedal back up.It's best if the end is in a suitably placed jar and then as some fluid is pumped out-have that end submersed in the fluid.
This has always worked pretty well on all my cars, including the Stag.
If it is being awkward,it is helpful for someone to pump the brake and have someone to open and close the bleed nipple as you pump and then tighten before letting the pedal back up.
I did hear somewhere that if you wanted one of those kits, that some suppliers can supply a cap to fit the Stag, but I've never used one.
          Good luck,Ken.
          p.s.
You may have to remove the pdwa valve to centralise the shuttle after bleeding,,otherwise that big red light may come on.on the dashboard.

I use a vacum pump bleed kit, purchased off ebay and generally find it easier than most I've tried. One tip is to wrap the bleed nipples with PTFE tape before you start because sometimes the outside air can be sucked past the nipple rather than the fluid through the system. Sometimes you need to pump the pedal to get it started, particularly on tandem systems. I find this type of system less messy than most.

I have bleed screws which have non return valves built in which function when slackened. Imported them from the US some years ago.
