    Bad starting

    Hi Guys,
Just before I start to have a look at the car , would be grateful if I could get your feedback.
The car starts from cold after a couple of days, on choke, after about two turns of the key. After that starts first turn if just switched off, say if you get some petrol or nip in a shop for something, but if it is stood for any time ie half a day at an event , then it can take an age to get it started. Any ideas before I start pulling it to bits. It has electronic ing and stomies. When running , runs great ,just this starting issue????
    thanks
    regards

    That sounds just like mine.
My only thought is to make sure you don't pull the choke knob after it's run during the day. Mine doesn't like that.

If you do a search there are lots of post about this. I'd look at temperature commentators, float level, vent valves. Also check if the ballast bypass is connected and working.

Make sure the petrol pump has stopped pumping before trying to start - a lot of petrol vaporises off after stopping and this needs to be replaced.

            Just an update lads,
rerun the wire from the starter motor to coil ( bypass) and all seems well, but I will let you know after a few days of hot and cold starting.
            thanks for all your help

            regards
