Any pole with the Austin Maestro in it can't be worth reading!

That car really was no better than the Allegro

I hope the Peugeot is coming back. I've got "THE 20S" on retention and have been looking to sell it. Came off the wifes 205 1.9GTI.

Don't knock the Allegro Mr Rumbler.

I had a 1750 Sport many years ago and was a fab car. It was eventually stolen from me, used in an armed robbery and driven through a shop window!

Needless to say I never got it back.

Is that the reversal to a "smash and grab"?

And don't diss the Maestro either Mr Rumbler, I had a 1.6 HLS version which gave excellent service, was economical and FUN to drive, yes, I said Fun - strange but true!:P

Don't be so hard on the Maestro - had one for 3 years as a company car - I was merciless with it, and it kept coming back for more and just wouldn't break- handling was more than adequate and considerable liberties could be taken in the bends, even if performance wasn't all that unless you had the 2.0efi....

I quite missed it when it went - in it's place I had a Montego GTi - thrashed that about for 7 years and the only thing that went wrong was the battery......

The wife used to have an Allegro many moons ago, A very 'Green' car. I used to recycle all my old Stag oil through it as it burned so much. It was excellent for getting rid of tailgaters too, when going downhill on over run, then accelerating away leaving them in the thick smoke it left behind- James Bond style.
