    Under bonnet refurb

I'm in the process of removing heads and intend to take the opportunity of tidying up under the bonnet.

I recall reading a thread which referred to small spray cans which are suitable for spraying into the restricted under bonnet areas but can't find the thread.

Can anyone please direct me to the thread or a supplier of this product?

    Thanks in advance.

Have you considered using an airbrush? You can pick them up quite cheaply from places like machine mart. I have found them far more controllable than cans with much less overspray.

I'm doing a similar job and the airbrush is a great idea, off to order one now.

hi Steve, there will a paint factor around your area, which supply the body shops and mix paint they should be able to fill aerosols for you after matching your colour. You will need something on the colour to take for them to match to. Ask a at body shop they may be to suggest some where.

I use Autopaints in Brighton for rattle cans and normal paint. They mix to order and their match for Triumph Royal Blue (56) is way better than others. I get the paint by mail order as I'm about 600miles from Brighton.

+1 for the air brush option if you have a compressor, so easy to use in tight areas. Gives an ultra fine spray and you can use them with 2K paints, clear coats etc. If you have to mask off intricate areas, 'paint' them with a thin, covering of grease before you paint, then wipe off afterwards, easier than trying to mask up.
