    oil cooler

Hi all, has anyone fitted an oil cooler. I am going to fit an oil filter conversion kit and thought also of an oil cooler. I was thinking one similar to that on my '79 MGB Roadster, anyone fitted one, what type and from whom, is there a specific kit that will fit the Stag, ta

Hi, I fitted one of these several years ago. The take off sandwich plate with thermostat goes between the oil filter conversion plate and the oil filter. I fitted the oil cooler in the front apron area. It works well. Craig

I don't think a Stag is thought to need of an oil cooler, unless you are driving hard over long distances, racing it (!) or caravan towing. It is equally important that the oil doesn't run too cool as well as too hot, or moisture etc. won't disperse. So, if you do fit one, you really should fit a thermostat as well to prevent this happening.

OK! I think I might fit one if I lived in the sunny Canaries, with a thermostat! If only it was necessary here in England.

Seem that a lot of folk think fan shroud is , so an oil cooler must be vital.

Hi Guys, thanks for all the replies. Mikes opinion is the similar to one I read from an article by Canley Classics that an oil cooler "for 99% of Triumphs was an unnecessary expense" and in N.Ireland it is not hot enough and I won't be going racing, so I will give it a miss, thanks again, ta
