    Stag Tenerife Sightseeing Tours

Decided to group all the videos I will be doing of outings in my Stag in Tenerife into one Thread - this one.

The 1st one - “Tour 1” has a music soundtrack added.

Will update Post #1 as I go along and add new YouTube footage Links as they become available. To improve the film footage - change the YouTube setting to highest quality.

I am using a “Mobius” Dashcam for all the film footage, and a “Zoom H1” sound recorder to pick up the exhaust sound from hopefully Tour 2 onwards.

Tour 1 (Nov '16) - Las Americas, San Eugenio, Puerto Colon, Siam Mall, and Los Cristianos (18 mins).
    ......................https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fQm4N4GSS0c
    Trip 1 (Nov '16) - San Isidro via TF1 Motorway (9.5 mins).
    .....................
    https://youtu.be/7o_rPspDdfg
Trip 2 (Nov '16) - Galletas, Ten Bel, Guargacho, Las Chafiras ( mins).
    .....................https://youtu.be/fmY2GrF_uxs
Tour 2 (Nov '16) - Amarillo Golf, Golf Del Sur, San Blas, Los Abrigos, El Medano (21 mins).

That was picked up by the Mobius inbuilt mike - not the one I have in my rear bumper.
As soon as Family have returned back to U.K. will have another go with the exhaust mike and Zoom sound recorder which should produce a much better sound.

Well it's not exactly a sightseeing trip, but did test out my new dashcam and sound recorder again today with different settings on a run via the Motorway to our Dentist in San Isidro as the Maureen (the misses) needed some more work done on a new bridge.

We normally go in her Honda but it went in yesterday for it's respray. It's about 10 to 15 Kilometers from home to the Dentist's via the TF1 Motorway, and I used the opportunity to take the Stag up to the Motorway limit of 125 kph (about 77 mph), although you are allowed to go faster whilst overtaking which is a very sensible rule in my opinion.

The video is about 9 minutes long and the sound you here on it I have alternated between what the Mobius itself picks up situated on the dash, and what the mike above the exhaust picks up via the Zoom H1 recorder. On the Motorway it is mainly the sound from the exhaust as the Mobius was picking up a lot of wind noise (because my Stag is quite noisy with it's hardtop on when going fast). On the ordinary roads and in the car park it is just the Mobius sound. You should be able to notice the difference when it changes over from one audio pick up to another

As well as below, I have added the video Link address to the first post as the 2nd video listed.

I sure you will think me picky Terry but the speed limit is 120. I've had a look at your video and when you first go on the motorway you pass a speed limit sign. Don't want you to get nicked.

Graham - I'm sure I've seen somewhere that the limit can go up to 125 kph in places, but I could be wrong in my old age. I know it's 120kph on that particular stretch, and I only exceeded that when I was overtaking someone. Still got quite a few cars overtaking me though when I was doing 120/125 kph.

Don't wish to bore you, and you don't have to watch if you don't want to, but have just uploaded another video of another local trip out in the Stag (it's circa 13.5 minutes long), and I know from PMs some of you do enjoy watching my YouTube videos.

The reason for the latest video is I wanted to try out a new setting on the Zoom H1 recorder attached to the Mike above the Stag's exhaust, and experiment with trying to “sync” the audio track with the edited video track – not easy.

It's a trip out 1st to “Ten Bel” to reserve a table for this coming Sunday's open air music & dance event there (which the wife and I regularly attend), then on to Las Chafiras to buy some childrens Xmas presents at the “China Town” shopping complex, and also to “Iceland” to pick up a stack of mince pies & sausage rolls for the Xmas Party in our complex. Have to do it now or else they all get sold, and we need several hundred of each.

Have removed the sound the Mobius dashcam picked up, and substituted the sound from the exhaust Mike, using a “manual” rather than an “auto” setting on the recorder. It's going to take a bit of experimentation to find just the right settings to produce the best video and audio results, but I am enjoying doing it (I use "MovAvi" video editor by the way to edit my videos), and it gives me an excuse to keep going on runs in the Stag.

I recognise some of that from a time share viewing 10 years ago Terry.

When you turned into the shopping mall at 3.30 was that a fire service drill tower I saw?

                Jeff.
I only do what the voices in my wife’s head tell me to do!

Jeff - it's the "Ten Bel" tower (you can just make out the word "Ten" on the top), but what it was built for I don't know, could well have been a Fire Service practise tower - maybe Staggard knows, he has lived just about a mile round the corner from it far longer than I have been here. It's just an unused "eyesore" at present.

Just completed the video of today's outing in the Stag (Tenerife Sightseeing Tour No.2). It's a liitle long at 21 minutes, so may re-edit it and shorten it sometime later. The first bit contains the audio track of the "Mike" in the rear bumper above the exhaust, but after that I have added some music tracks (assuming YouTube doesn't block them). The Link is below and will also add it to Post #1.

It was a 25 mile round trip passing by & through Amarillo Golf, Golf Del Sur, San Blas, Los Abrigos, and El Medano, before heading back home. Tenerife back roads have good surfaces, are quiet, and seem just made for Stag motoring. Notice too that some of places being passed through that they have started putting up Xmas decorations above the road that will light up at night.

PS. Just got a msg from YouTube that the last music track I added (Green Onions) has been blocked in some Countries due to copyright, so don't know if you can hear it in the U.K. or not?

Planning another local tour in the Stag with the dashcam running while the roads are reasonably quiet.
Will be avoiding the Motorway and most of the "A" roads, just using the back roads doing a circular tour from and back to my home.
The route planned is marked in black on the Map below, and if the dashcam footage turns out O.K., will upload it to YouTube and post the Link in this Thread. Hopefully should show some nice scenery on part of the route.

I have just been on a run out in the Stag with the dashcam running, and am currently editing & creating a video of the jouney made which covered 20 miles on local back roads.

All went well, but I did have a new problem (that I've not had before) whilst out which if you watch the forthcoming video with the sound turned up, someone might be able to help me with.

About half way through my journey, whenever I went round a left hand bend I heard a “scraping” sound from the rear (you can hear it on the video when I am going round some roundabouts later on), as though something at the rear was catching.

To me it sounded as though it was coming from the right hand rear wheel, but it could be the suspension, or something else at the back end, but only occurred when making a continous left turn.

Before taking it to a Garage to be jacked up and looked at, anyone on here any idea what it may be?

The sound on the video is that picked up by my Mobius dashcam, this time I am not adding the sound that the Zoom recorder picked up from the microphone in the rear bumper.

Appreciate any ideas/suggestions as to what the sound might be.
The video should be available either later tonight or tomorrow.

                        Regards

                        Terry

My latest YouTube video has just uploaded and lasts just under 20 minutes.

The “worrying sound” I refered to in my earlier post can be heard when turning left in the Amarillo Golf area, turning left into Las Chafiras Industrial Estate, and before & after passing through “CHO”.

To view in full screen mode click on the 1st (https) Link below, then click on the full screen icon bottom right.
Clicking direct on the screen shot itself appears to only allow you to watch in partial screen mode for some reason!?

                          Regards

                          Terry

Nice video about Tenerife. I always like to go Tenerife for travelling due to natural beauty of that place. I like fly with Paragliding in Tenerife. Paragliding trainers have so much experience in Tenerife. I like the trainers of Skyparafly, they helped me when I had gone to Tenerife for Paragliding.

Welcome to the SOC Forum being as the above was your 1st post.
Are you a potential Stag owner?, as if you are you will find lots of information and help on here about buying one.

Glad you liked the video, my daughter has Paraglided here, and last month when she visited did a Skydive here as a birthday present from her husband which was all filmed. My wife & I have lived here for 13 years now and love the Island.
