Sorry all that I have not responded to your replies, but unfortunataly Father in Law died last night so events have rather overtook me. I will study your replies in a day or to and respond. Thanks for now for all your replies.

Dasedrew, Richard thanks for your thoughts.
With regard to the switch, I shall await the garages findings as to whether the switch is loose, leaking or there is an issue with the housing. I think on balance I will stick with the standard switch, I know there is logic to having the advanced warning of a higher pressure switch but there is enough paranoia watching the temp gauge without watching out for a flickering oil warning light, and having just had the engine rebuilt I hope that I shall not have an oil pressure issue for some years to come. But thank you all for your input, I shall report back after the weekend.
