    Differential front oil seal

    Hi all

I need to replace the differential front oil seal and quill shaft bearing. Looking through the forum it looks like there are 3 alternatives for the oil seal
    1. Leather seal
    2. Single lip rubber seal
    3. double lip rubber seal

What opinions are there on which one is the best? If the double lip rubber seal, are there any recommendations on manufacturer/part number/supplier as I cannot find any suggestions when searching the forum

    Many thanks

    Paul

Leather. That was the original fitment and offers a larger witness to the shaft so less chance of leakage.
I used them in My PI's years ago and they never leaked, used one in my Stag this time, no problems.
The best ones come from Chris Witor.
Soak in oil for 48 hours prior to fitting.

Many thanks for the guidance. I do have a quote from Chris Witor for the leather seal. I just wanted to make sure it was the right choice to go for leather as there appeared to be different opinions out there (:
      Thanks again
