Aldridge Front Seat Base Cover: genuine and new pattern do they match?

    Hi all
the drivers seat base (LH) in my Stag (MK2, 1974) got some cracks over the years due to brittleness(?). The driver seat backrest and the passengers seat are still ok. Does anybody have experience whether the pattern of new Aldridge seat base cover match with the 42 year old ones in an acceptable way?

    Any help is much apreciated.

The basket weave is sometimes less defined.
best thing is to ask them to send you out a sample of the basket weave currently used.

Really many thanks Neil that you took the time to post the pictures. BTW: what a beautiful interior---very close to concourse!!

I think you are right, the little pattern difference will more or less diappeare in black and if not: I have same philosophiy as you: I sit on the seat to drive my car..........

            Cheers

From my experience, grain patterns can vary, and colours can be quite different, but in black, any differences will be less obvious. To be sure, Aldridge have been very helpful with samples.

We got Shadow Blue ones that are excellent, get the fixing clips from LDpart as they hold really well:

I used these clips,,they hold very well, even into old door card cups, make sure you don't want the door trims off in the near future-
Interior Door Trim Clip (Pack of 25) VW Beetle 1947 on

Although I am very pleased with the trim kit I got from Aldridges, they sent me the seat covers without the' basket weave 'pattern, when I rang and told them ,they said it wasn't available in the colour(not a Stag colour) that I chose, this should have been disclosed before I had received and paid for them.
Having said that, after initial disappointment ,I am very happy with the result,,3 years later.
