    Temperature Sender Thread Size

    Hello,
I wish to tap the right hand side transfer housing to fit another temperature gauge but can't seem to find what the thread size is. Does anybody know and does anyone have a transfer housing going spare?
    Regards
    Richard

Sure you're correct Neil, Holdens site quotes

"Adaptor for use with Temperature Sender 070.017. This Adaptor has a 5/8 UNF male thread to screw into the water gallery . The other end is also 5/8 UNF, but a female thread to sui t Sender 070.017. If more depth is required to fit the bulb you can use two of these Adaptors screwed into each other. It can also be used with mechanically operated Temperature Gauges to provide more depth for the bulb in the block

It appears that the OP is fitting another temperature gauge to compare readings between heads? If so its vital that the two gauges are matched, so buying temp sensors supposedly meant for a Stag is meaningless. Both sensors and gauges should be calibrated by heating up in a pan of water with an accurate thermometer, or compared without the thermometer. Mismatched gauges will only cause unnecessary paranoia.
