    What someone needs to make is the same sort of tool we use on Jaguar V12 heads.
    I have one back home for that, and it's the same principal.

    Easy peasy with such a tool.

      Details of the correct tool are in the technical section. Several of us have made and successfully used them. I'd lend mine, but it is at home in my garage and I'm on holiday in New Zealand just now......

        If you are visiting Tauranga & Auckland on your stop over in New Zealand, please say hello to Stag Owners John & Joan Parker plus Ian & Heather Skene (Tauranga), and Sue Lowe (Auckland), who made us so welcome when the wife & I were there and took us out & about in their immaculate Stags. Sue is the present President of the New Zealand Stag Club, Joan Parker is the Secretary/Treasurer.

          My angle iron head pusher tool is out on loan to Julian Leyton at the moment he has a couple of engines to strip and may be his own to do as well.
          The pusher tool has been used twice so far on two different engines successfully and I expect by the time Julian has finished it will have racked up some more success.

            Cheers Terry. We've done Auckland, Coromandel, Mt Maunganui and now leaving Waikite en route to Taupo and Napier. I did consider doing the Stag thing whilst here, but we don't really have time.

              Thanks for replying Dave - wouldn't mind visiting New Zealand again sometime, are you going to tell us your experiences there on the Forum when you get back, or write an article for the Club Mag? Must say our trip through the Panama Canal was one of the highlights of our recent cruise to South America, and I know you did it many years ago. Posted a link to a couple of YouYube videos I did in another post - if you look at the Panama Canal Section you might be able to tell what (if anything) has changed over the years.

                Finally, the head has been removed using brute force. Thanks to Chris Spain for loan of tooling. Onwards & upwards.

                  Hello, I am having the same problem I have tried rope trick but did not work 4 of the 5 studs snapped off at head level I have seen a jig on the internet that bolts to the cam housing and exhaust manifold bolts then jacks off the studs but I don't know where I would find one,if anyone has any solutions please feel free because I am quite literally stuck!

                    Thanks for the files I have made a jig from your drawings and will be trying it out when time allows, thank you all for your ideas and experiences and I hope I can get the head off without to much damage.
