Non technical Stag related

Up in Carlisle last night in a quaint hotel and noticed the cover print of the "Carlisle" tourist guide in our room was a painted street scene with a green Stag in the foreground. The reg looks to be TWY34T.

Is this artistic license or did the artist know the car. Probably the former as his name is Graham Twyford. Anyone know him, or know of the Stag that helps make a perfect scene?

The DVLA have no record of that Reg No, so could be artistic license as you say.

Hi geniunely interested in how you can discern the reg no. My attempts to zoom and read all result in pixellation?

Whatever this is a great picture and would make an excellent present for any Stag Owner. I will contact the magazine publishers and see if the original is available as a print.

My original photo is a little clearer and I can just about make out the reg. I do however think the artist made it up as there are similarities to his name. Without doubt he has good taste.

Yes of course - a bit thick of me not to realise this!

However I have had a response from both the magazine and the artist who says that unframed and framed prints are available. He can be contacted at

He also sent me a jpeg of the original without the magazine front page clutter

I personally prefer the semi-cropped version as on the Magazine cover where the autumnal tree and the Stag come to the foreground.
