Paddocks gearbox reconditioning service - any experience?

Dear all,

I am considering using this service for my J type box as it has quite a 3rd gear whine and a fair bit of backlash in it. It seems quite reasonable and I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience of them in this respect?

I've only used their rebuild kits - if you have a specifically noisy gear, it's fairly unlikely the kit would work for you so would want, I think, to go for the ready-rolled gearbox as the 3rd mainshaft/lay gear are likely damaged in some way.

One that is either new has already been rebuilt ready to fit - an old time analogy with cigarettes often used years ago in the trade

Yep, am familiar with the term ready rolled, even familiar with the product some while ago! Just wanted to understand its context here. I plan to do the gearbox exchange route, so that's qualifies for the ready rolled variety I guess!
