It moved on it own for the first time yesterday. There was a fuel problem so it didn't run like i hoped. The the clutch line let go again, so it might be gearbox off again in the New Year.

Soon as the clutch went so did the fuel problem and the engine ran sweet. The dump valve swooshed so it getting boost as well. Still waiting for the new wheels and hubs to turn up then the drive shafts can be made/fitted. Might have mod the wheel arches or move the trailing arms to get the tyre clearance. More fun.

That's one mean looking Stag! I think you'll have to play Judas Priest's 'A Touch Of Evil' on the stereo when out cruising....

        Cheers,

Looks good and that is definitely more appropriate than the new tricks theme tune most of us have to settle for!

Long play list ready to go, AC-DC Shoot to thrill and thunderstruck. The stereo is on the to do list. Was going to go for a Sony double din unit but wasn't to sure about it getting nicked being a convertible. So ill just go for a hidden Wi-Fi or blue tooth receiver linked up to the crossover/amps/speakers. I just have to find all the stuff as its been out of the car for some time.

If you can find a set of mk1 Triumph 2000 trailing arms they have a 1" narrower track so wider wheels can be fitted into the arch.

I'll have to look out for a pair. It's odd that the passenger rear wheel is fine but the drivers side sticks out about an inch further.

Already did hes not got a pair. I did have a set of adjustable rear trailing arm brackets, but they could be anywhere. I do have a spare trilling arm I used to get the new drive shafts machined down which might be a different size.

that said the new rear alloys are 9.5" wide.

My nearside rear wheel sticks out more than the offside too and quite noticeable.

Mk1 trailing arms are quite hard to come by - hen's teeth, rocking horse poo etc - hence a lot of Mk 1s now have Mk 2 arms fitted (and no, you're not having mine!)

The one wheel sticking out more than the other problem is not unusual. I usually end up welding up the trailing arm bracket holes and then re drill them closer to the edge of the bracket to pull everything back into alignment.
Have done the same thing on my TR due to wider rear wheels. The original splined shafts can take the variation in length without a problem.

Once the new wheels and hubs turn up I'll have work out what width tyres will be the best, as the rears are 9.5" wide I think the narrowest is 245. Then I'll have to sort out all the trailing arms to get the clearance. Only then I can mock up the drive shafts.

once all that is done it can go within a sniffing distance of a rolling road.
