Rover V8 conversion

My car has an RV8 joined via an adaptor plate with a Triumph gearbox. What clutch and flywheel assembly will it use? How is the 2" gap of the adaptor plate compensated for in the drive train?

Cant find a lot about RV8 conversion in the members area and wonder if it might be worth having a section on the Forum for modified Stags.

The adaptor plate is simply a replacement for the adaptor plate used to fit the Stag V8, the Stag and Dolomite Sprint gearboxes both use an extra long input shaft to allow for the use of an adaptor plate.
The clutch is a Stag clutch. The Stag and RV8 both use the same clutch cover.

Hi Neil, that explains everything. Separating the engine and gearbox was a pain as the nuts for the gearbox to adaptor bolts were inside the adaptor. I tried to undo the adaptor to gearbox Alan bolts but access was limited. In the end I took the engine and gearbox halfway out then split them. As they use the same clutch cover will the RV8 flywheel fit the Stag?

The Rover flywheel is totally different to the Stag one and about twice the weight.
Can't say I have ever looked closely but I would have thought it extremely unlikely the flywheels are interchangeable.

I've got a 5 speed box, clutch, propshaft and g/box crossmember you can get FOC if you're up for it.
