    Road Salt

I had a bit of a surprise this morning. In the cold weather, I keep my modern in a garage which being part of the house construction, and fitted with insulated doors, stays fairly warm. I used it quite a bit over the festive period, but left it out last night. When I walked into the empty garage space this morning I was amazed at the amount of salt deposits on the floor by each of the wheels. Makes you think what it does to a less well protected classic doesn't it.IMG_2415.jpg

Not to mine, in the Carcoon November to march.

I can do without the handful of days during winter which try and fool you into thinking there's no salt deposits on the roads even after a couple of weeks of non gritting. Would you drive your Stag along the waterline at the beach ?

You need a long period of heavy rain before I will even consider going for a winter drive.
Even then, I will 'taste test' the dirt on the daily drive for any salt first!

I'll take mine out if the roads are dry and there is no visible sign of salt.
