    Valvoline VR1

I'm looking to buy some VR1 and have noticed that there is a new VR1 being offered by the suppliers. This comes in a silver/ grey container with the product code VAL873432 and the product description refers to it being a mineral oil with a high zinc content but does not mention suitability for classic engines. It does say that its suitable for some Harley Davidsons! The old VR1 I've bought before comes in a black container with the product code VE11951 and reassuringly mentions that its suitable for classic engines.

Does anybody know if the new VR1 is the same/ similar to the old VR1 and is suitable for Stag engines? Has anybody used the new VR1 oil?

    Thanks

    Chris

Same stuff, different package from what I can see, and I have a stock of both black and grey packaging

I used to get all mine from Europarts but they seem to have stopped stocking it - most unhelpful!

Amazon is fast becoming the only reliable source - but for how long, who knows?

I bought my last 15 litres from an ebay seller, grey packaging but seems to be The Right Stuff.

            Chris,

I've just spoken to Opie Oils and they say the only thing that has changed is the colour of the container, the formulation is as before and supplies are not a problem.
If you ring them on 01209 202944 ask for a new customer code and get yourself a 10% discount.
They have a huge list of clubs who attract a discount but sadly not SOC. I have mentioned it before but seemingly to no avail.

            Good luck,

            Brian

Have just received 2 x 5 litres today from Pipercross performance oils on Amazon/ebay. 5% discount on second 5 litres, plus free p and p. Total £56.62 arrived within two days by courier. Just google Valvoline VR1 and it comes up.

The last lot I bought was from Nielsen CDG on ebay. 20 litres with a bit of free screen wash thrown in for good measure!
