    Rogue Valve collet

Just shimming up my heads, some shims under .090 needed but as Saab and Lotus ones are available down to the 70s I'm not too concerned, the valves have been dressed a few times I'm sure.

The one valve that's concerning me has the stem almost level with the top of the spring seat, I'm worried that the shim will fall out. What I think is going on is that one of the collets is oversized, I tried it on other valves with the same effect.. Anyone seen that before?

Same collets seem to be used on most Triumphs so I'm wondering if its picked up an American one somewhere *everything's bigger in America!

seen all sorts of weird things and bodges. not sure that the risk of a valve dropping into a cylinder is worth it though for the cost of a pair of correct collets ;-)

No real danger of the valve falling out, just the stem sitting a little high, I was more concerned about the shim popping out.

I got a few from a friend and found one that worked fine, but even some of them were on the thick side.

I guess over the years there can be a little variation.
