    Centre console chrome switch nuts

Is there a tool available to tighten up the chrome nuts for the heater, choke and rear screen switches? I've just had my wood revarnished and don't want to damage it on reassembly.

    Any suggestions?

This is what you need https://www.holden.co.uk/displayprod...?pCode=095.193
    You could make your own.

From what I recall, most (all?) of the switches have a nut on the back as well. I think I tightened them from the back with a normal spanner.
I could be wrong though, it was a few years ago now.

Yes there is a nut on the back of the choke switch only but I cannot get to it. I've swapped the choke and heated rear screen switches over so the choke cable feeds straight into the engine bay. It makes the cable smoother to use and it's closer to the driver. Also the are cables out of the way so I was able to get the radio further back into the centre console. You don't use the rear screen switch that often so it seemed an obvious change.

Peterrc - The link you sent is for the wrong bezel. This is the one I found searching the web

but it's from America and works out at £33 including postage. Are there any in the UK?

Good idea switching the two switches over, it brings the choke closer to the UK driving position. You've given me another job for the spring . I guess the original arrangement was to suit the LHD markets like the US.

If you are looking for a very simple mod to make the car more UK user friendly, try swapping the bonnet release over to the r/h side. There are captive bolts already on the underside of the dash on the r/h side on mine. The same bracket can also be used. Mine's a mk1 1/2 export model so I don't know if they are there on the Mk2. You will need the Triumph 2000/2.5 longer cable

Now it's two jobs for the spring.

It is simple enough to have a bonnet release on both sides. This is both convenient and has the benefit of still being able to open the bonnet should one cable snap.
