    Rétromobile in Paris, a Stag on the Triumph Club de France boot

    This Stag attracted much attention from the french visitors as it is a rare view on our roads, estimated number of Stag on the road is less than 50 ( from a total of 246 exported to France from 1970 to 1977 i believe ) .

      Apart this Stag, no other Stag and also very few TRs, MGA/B as was the case some years ago.

      Retromobile became the realm of investors able to put from 100.000€ to 1Mi€ on a car like an E-Type, an Aston Dbi..
      On the Brabus booth, was for sale a Mercedes 600, Fully restored, see picture at 1.2Mi€.

      We, with our Stags, are able to drive on our roads and still have the pleasure to look at our car in our simple garage.

        Strange that were not more British models at the show.
        A small island like Tenerife appeared to attract more British models than from any other Country
        at a Classic Car show held in Las Americas some years ago (2009) - see Link below, which broke
        the record (Spanish Guinness Book of Records), for number of Classics at one event - 641 in total.
        My Stag was given the number 409 as I was the 409th one there, and I still have the plaque that all attendees were given.

          1/ Newton's laws apply. Whatever goes up will come down.

          2/ If it's too good to be true, it usually is.

          Last time this all happened was in 1990-91, then lots of people got burned.
          I guess lots of these new speculators are too new to the game to remember.

            Guess what your saying is it's down to the Organiser(s), and the purpose/reasons behind it.

            In the Link I gave the Show was organised by a local Tenerifian (Paco), who runs a nearby Garage & owns a number of Classic Cars, and is President of the Arona Classic Car Club (his car there was the red Triumph Stag shown - he's the guy with white hair & white beard shown next to a "Hoopers dolly bird" in a photo half way through).

            As far as I know he organised it purely because of the love of Classic Cars and his desire to see as many Classic Cars as possible gathered together on home soil, and in so doing attempt to break the record for such an event.

            That was my take on the event anyway and I really enjoyed the day, and nobody was selling anything or advertising anything (as far as I know). From the number on show, it would appear quite a number of Canarians like & run old British models, as nearly all the British cars there were on either old or new Canarian plates. (TF prefix for Tenerife, GC for Gran Canaria, but since superseded by an "H" prefix denoting "Historic" vehicle).

            Quite surprised to see an Austin A35 still on the road over here, and an early Austin Westminster (I think it was in black & white), and didn't expect to see a white Austin 1300 GT. You will see that there was a good fair selection of Triumph models to be seen also, and loads and loads of "real" Minis.

            That show was 8 years ago now, it would be nice if another similar event were to be organised on Tenerife again soon.

              I am sure you noticed the Stag Owner's Club sticker behind the interior read mirror ��. To my knowledge, i think there are 22 Stags registered at the Triumph Club de FRANCE. And, among these, at least 2 SOC members.
