    LED interior bulbs

    Hi.

As it is such a nice day here, and work is quiet, i'm doing some little jobs. One of these was replacing some of the lights with LEDs, with a view to then changing the dash lights and adding daylight running lights.

Has anyone bought the 'interior light upgrade kit' from 'better car lighting'. The owner has been really helpful, but no matter what try, i cant get the footwell lights to fit in. I wondered if it was just me, or if others had the same issue.

    thanks

    Hi Mark,
Yes I fitted led interior lights & dash from Bettercarlighting last year and all went well. No trouble with the footwell lights. I'd give them another call; as you say they're very helpful.
    Regards
    Maurice

      Thanks Maurice.
The issue was with the slim LEDs being too slim for the fittings. One fitting was broken already and soldered back on - so i didn't want to force it. I'll persevere.
      All the best

The length is critical not the diameter. There are a number of standard lengths, 36, 38 and 42mm from memory. Check with original bulb. I bought some warm white ones from eBay, fit fine.

The length is fine, it is the old fitting that is the problem i think. Having trouble bending down the contacts.

            Hi
does anybody know the correct type of fitting for all the dash lights?
            E10 or B8.5D?

If you try http://www.bettercarlighting.co.uk/, they'll keep you right with (IMHO from personal experience) quality products. I posted details a couple of years ago. All I can recall at present is that the clock has a different bulb. They also do a kit for the warning cluster (some being +ve pin, others -ve pin) - I found these very beneficial and significantly more observable than the old tungsten type, though retained a tungsten one for the IGN (the bulb is part of the initial excitation of the alternator).

                Hi
the led lamps Gill sent me were about 5mm on the long side for my footwell lights.
they need to be the size of a glass fuse to fit easily.
Although long mine went in ok and lm very pleased with them.
Gill also supplied my DRL lamps to fit into my outer headlamps.
