    More ebay fraud

    This is so obvious:

1971 TRIUMPH STAG MK1 AMAZING CLASSIC TRIUMPH eBay item number:401286070801

Press the button to ask a question....

Yes, and probably download a virus or "bot" which will seek out all your personal details.

Ebay is getting worse and worse for fraudulent listing!

    Also these two:

    eBay item number:262882649900

    eBay item number:322443164572

    Hi Mike

Including the the white one advertised, i have made 17 reports this month alone. Did 3 Saturday morning. I have been told of 2 cases now where a buyer for a Stag has lost all of their money.

All we can do for now is all of us report the adverts and create eBay some work and maybe they will realise

I think it would be a good idea if EBay for car purchase at least is left alone. it's a great pity but clearly they are not able to stop these scams - if it's like this for Stags I shudder to think how much fraud exists overall the stuff that's for sale on there.
      Terrible!

I agree it may not go away but at least forum members can at least report any to reduce exposure to new buyers an future members

I agree, EBAY should do something to protect buyers from this kind of thing.

I just saw this one and I cannot believe this is genuine.

The trouble is ebay must be aware of these scams because people keep reporting them and they are still there !! why are they not doing anything about it?- as has been said pays to be wary of buying a motor from ebay

I'm afraid these companies are just too big and complacent to care - multi millions earned from both good and dodgy ads, why disturb the income...?

My Daughter was caught by Viagogo albeit she did get her money back - they offer concert tickets for which you pay the very overinflated price they are offered at only to be told that 3 days before the concert the tickets are no longer available - the seller has obviously got a better offer somewhere else!

Despicable behaviour, totally lacking in ethics but active in over 50 countries and frankly they don't give a damn!

It's a pity no one can be trusted anymore.

Genuine. Look at buying feedback plenty of purchases from tony hart and robsport. Price looks right and description is typical of someone not used to selling..... i.e. sparse and lacking in detail. Finally most of the other scams have the so called seller listing dozens of other vehicles at silly prices, this one doesn't.

                    Still proceed with caution though.

Telephone code on the sign in the background is also for the same area as the ebay location .. ok that doesn't really mean that much because we can set location when we set up an ebay account, but is still another way to check .. I agree with above that they have a lot of purchases that are car related .. although been quiet for over 12 months

I still wouldn't be parting with that much cash without seeing it prior to bidding though ...

I once considered buying a Stag from Australia (mostly I wanted one with no rust from new), found the right car for £6k totally original with no rust whatsoever and no body repairs ... was about to buy a ticket to fly there and back to check it out (£500 quid return), but then decided to go another way and do a nut and bolt restoration and I bought the one I have now from the UK. I know that's a bit extreme .. but it's a lot of cash to loose if it is a scam.

Not convinced myself. No feedback at all in last 12 months, an almost non existent description and a seller that would prefer to be contacted via mobile phone rather than the eBay messaging system. Alarm bells ringing straight away for me.

Bank transfers are not protected by ebay, you are only protected if you pay through paypal ... there is no reason at all that item should not go through paypal .. no track record .. stay away.
