Hi All,
Just had a bit of a nightmare with my fuel pipes, went to the MG & Triumph event at Stoneleigh Park, had a great visit and got a couple of things I needed but when I got home the Stag stalled just as I was putting it away in the garage. Managed to get it going a bit more and got it in and then opened the bonnet to find petrol all over the engine and the petrol pump just kept going (with ignition on of course).
Found petrol overflow pipe rotted and in two pieces and a bit of rubber jamming the needle valve so no back pressure to stop the pump. Just as well I already have grey hair.
So now cleaned carbs, new pipes all round, new vac pipes and everything tight, even new filter all is well but the tuning is now significantly out. I must thank Rimmers for getting full kits over to me very quickly.
As a result of this I was talking to David at Carburettor Exchange and it seems that the new Bio additive is causing a lot of pipes new and old to rot quicker than before. SO BE WARNED.
Does anyone know of a good Rolling Road tuning service other than Rolling Road at Wilshers garage, Royston, I have been there and had a great job done but it is quite a long way and if there was one nearer I might try it. I live in Leighton Buzzard.
Thanks for any suggestions,
John H
