Well, I have not fitted them yet.
I got the hardness raised to 45HRC at the heat treaters. That cost more than the sprockets did though.
They said that the sprockets were mild steel, and the hardness will only be a few microns deep.
The finish of the root of the teeth was fairly poor, almost a sheared in appearance.
I also dropped of some NOS sprockets to get the material type & hardness checked.
That has taken an age but they did say that the NOS parts were only just on the scale.
This means that the hardness of the parts being supplied are not as far off as some may have thought.
Main thing is to check alignment & shim to suit as per ROM & not to have too greater tension IMHO.
The tension can be increased too much if the guides are adjusted incorrectly & or the oil pump pressure relief valve has been changed to attempt to get a higher idle pressure.
