Knocking noise from rear axle

I took the Stag on a nice long run today and I have a knocking a noise from the rear axle/ rear suspension . It is when I go over a rough bit of road it mainly comes from the drivers side but sometimes from the nearside . I don't think it is the exhaust knocking as it seams more nearer the wheels . I have had new halve shafts and recon diff fitted by Robsports in Aug 2016 and they would have done a good job and told me if they found anything was untoward . The previous monkey that had the car fitted Hart springs all round and lowered the car by one inch. The knocking is a few knocks one after the other just like the suspension going up and down a few times after a bump.
Any ideas ?

could it be the shorter springs rattling a little on their seats?
i too used to gave the HRS kit and much as I loved the way the car handled it did bottom out a bit 4 up!

Shock absorber bushes?
Check the top mounts in the hood well. I found serious cracking of the body work on one of my stags around the top mount.

For some reason when the body shell was built a gap was left between the wheel arch and the stiffener beneath it resulting in fatigue cracking of the wheel arch.

Stone caught up in the spring well in the trailing arm?
Is the hub securely fixed to the trailing arm? (UJ knocking on the inside of the trailing arm).

Are all the wheel nuts tight? I had a similar sounding knock and found it went away when I replaced the knackered ally wheel nut!
