Just an update on projects I had over the winter lay-up
1. Rewired the power feeds for the new headlights to off the battery with stonking big fuses. Lights appear to work ok. Bucket of water was on standby. No fire.
2. Local club guys came out and overhauled the rear brakes with new adjusters (thankyou Ian (Milo) for the adjuster set photograph posted on another thread). While the brakes were off, the wheel studs were changed. I had already done the front wheels.
3.....and the main winter job was to get rid of the old wire wheels with worn hubs. I had replaced the spokes with stainless steel, but that, in hindsight, was a waste of money. But they will make great shiny garage wall-hangings. I love the look of minilites, but importing a set from the UK to Canada was expensive and I couldn't find a north American equivalent for the Stag. But hey, those 15 inch wheels on Graham's car (Staggard) look the cat's whiskers. In a flagrant display of copy-catting, I decided to follow Staggard's lead. Thankyou SO much to Staggard for all his help and patience over the past few months as I worked through the wheel stud change-over and fitted the new wheels and tyres. I think the wheels really suit the Stag.
I took the car for a short, slow run yesterday and all seems ok so far...
