    Dent puller

Can anyone recommended or has used a small dent puller. It's not for my Stag but for the daily car but would like to get one just in case I do need it for the Stag one day god forebid
The dent is small and metal in a panel surface and not on a corner or strong point so hoping I can pull it out

    Lots on eBay but...
    Cheers

I have seen some panel dents pop out using a heat source like a heat gun, even a kettle of boiling water and a plunger .. check out youtube for some idea's .. obviously depends on the type of dent and where it is though

Heat gun is normally used on plastic parts like bumpers and body mouldings, but Dry ice has been used after heat applied to metal with great success.

        Cheers Kevin and Jeff

Its one of those dents that is very shallow and notices when the car is clean, no crease, paint loss.

May well try the cold and hot technique. Now, where is that bag of frozen peas

There are many ways to remove a dent. Search youtube for paintless dent removal. If there is access to the back of the panel then one option is to push the dent out. They professionals use special shaped rods & levers to access the dent from behind and gently - very gently -tease the dent out. It is a skilled job and takes practice. There are kits on eBay..

If you attempt it yourself practice first ! I spent hours practising on an old scrap car and got quite good. I have never had much success using the glue on pad and pull method on anything other than the type of dent that pops out - and those I could have easily popped out by pushing behind. I wouldn't waste time with heat or cold, I doubt it will work and you risk damaging the paint. The only time to use heat on a metal painted panel is to remove paint damage caused by bird poo!

My solution.. don't clean and polish the car, saves time, money and all the marks, minor dents and scratches get hidden - and everyone stays away from you in the car park so you don't get as many dings in the first place. Only clean and polish it if you are going to sell it

There are hot glue systems for paintless dent removal too. The adhesive can easily be removed after treatment.

I have a kit called 'Ding King' by 'Good Ideas'. Not sure where I bought it but it does work with a bit of practice and help from Percy Verance.
