All,
The bar which connects to the handel on the inside of the door decided to drop out. So after taking the door skin off, I found that the bush which holds the clip for the bar and the bar in place had disintergrated.
I contacted Rimmer's and they sent me 2 replacements, part number 628012, one for a spare just in case the other door plays up. What I have found is that the clips provided are just not correct, they are too short between the metal clip and where it needs to expand to hold it's self in place. I am going back to Rimmmer's to explain the problem but they have already told me they have sold many of these. So I don't believe they will believe me when I say the part is not up for the job expected.
Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did they get around it or where did they get the correct part from?
Lastly why did Triumph design an "L" shaped part with the "L" pointing up when if it had been made pointing down it could have never dropped out in the first place. Has to be one of the great mysteries in life.
or "Lets make it as complicated as possible" must have been the designers remit.
Regards Dean.
