          Hello all,

To upload an image from a Mac click on "quick reply" when looking at the thread, click on the "insert image" icon, select the "from computer" tab in the "insert image" pop-up window, click on "browse" to open your Finder window, select the file(s) you want to upload and click on the Finder's "Open" button. The Finder window will close, and finally click on the "Upload file(s)" button in the "insert image" pop-up window. If the files you have uploaded meet the file format requirements they will appear in your message. The following file was uploaded using this method from my mid-2010 iMac.

Stag High Level Cooling System Tank Arrangement.
Sorry, but after sodding around with this system of attachments I have decided to give it a miss. If anyone would like to see exactly what I have achieved please contact me through my private messaging and I will oblige via e-mail.
You can also view alternative but similar arrangements on the Grampian Stags web site, which is where I got the inspiration to do my system.

Andy emailed me his description and pictures, so please find below.

Please find attached pics of my high level cooling header tank.
This fitment was inspired by Danny Stroud of Grampian Stags so thanks to him.
To elaborate, my car has a Kenlowe fan in front of the radiator so there is much more space for my piping arrangement.
An alternative for the 25 mm main make up pipe is a 'T' junction into the top hose, perhaps more practical.
The support bracketing for the poly Merc tank is visible at the two inner supports. The third support is by way of a bracket beneath the tank which connects onto a slot peg, the other end is connected to the wiper motor support bracket. This was a bit of a struggle in manufacture but ingenuity made the day.
The low level float switch is connected to a warning lamp and a buzzer (connected in parallel)
My main reason for going down this path was because of...paying out +£50 for two standard pressure overflow tanks that both leaked at the neck and would not hold the required 20 psi the system requires to run efficiently...and...to have a positive indication of a loss of water in the event of a slow leak.
Some years ago I had a small hose blow out on my TR7 and that event was more than obvious as the windscreen got covered in hot cooling system fluid...very messy..no vision!

                    Parts lists:
                    Merc. 190 (w201) High level expansion tank - KMS International - Birmingham £ 20.53
Merc float switch for above ACP - Sittingbourne, Kent £7.38
25 mm silicone hose (1 metre) ASH - Mirfield, West Yorkshire £12.60
8 mm silicone hose ( 1 Metre) as above £6.60
Strip steel from B&Q £5.00 approx
Copper pipe fitting from B&Q £5.00 approx
12 volt warning lamp, 12 volt buzzer & wiring from own spares

Almost forgot and most importantly...the float switch is a push fit into the tank and requires an external 'C' clip to hold it in place. 'C' clip needs an I/D of 29 mm. I got a box of 'C' clips fro Halfords - about £7.00
I suppose Mercedes would supply at great expense...
