    Wire Wheels ?

Just wondered am I limited to "STAG" only wheels or do other manufacturers wheels fit perfectly well.
    MG for instance
On the TR7 MGF wheels can be made to fit very well
    Any advice much appreciated

I have 15" anthracite/chrome minilite type that I bought from the MGBHive that fitted perfectly and look good.

Yes they look fantastic but must be a bu**er to keep clean!

To other posters BTW the OP refered to wire wheels not alloy variants

I would imagine a TR5/6 wire wheel set would fit in 5.5x15 size.
Stud pattern is the same, and the minilite replica alloy wheels normally fitted to Stags are a TR offset (wrong for the Stag but will just fit)

6x15 wires probably would not, and the 70 spoke centre laced pattern that can be used tubeless definitely would not as they have a greater offset than the 72 spoke standard wheels. I have a set of the centre laced 6x15 on my TR which needed the wings spacing out to cover the tyres. The 6x15 minilite replicas previously on the TR are fitted to my K reg Stag.

you have to have a wheel with the same PDC the stag size is 114.3 mgf is different size so won't fit

More likely Scimeter with that offset, they had same PCD as Stag.

When you earn as much money, and own as many cars as Jay Leno does, you could afford to employ someone (more like an army of people) full time to look after them all. He owns some great Classics as can seen seen by logging onto Jay Lenos Garage website.

What I'd like to know is if there a noticeable difference when driving on Wire Wheels. I love the way they look, but how do they perform compared to an alloy wheel?

I think the ones on mine came from MWS. Bought from Rimmers. I like them.

Can't say I have noticed any difference on the TR, normal driving, track days or autosolos.

The wires are a fair amount heavier so do increase the un sprung weight of the suspension, so theoretically a bad thing. Might be noticeable on a lighter car than the TR or Stag on rough surfaces.

These are the wheels mounted on mine, before i cleaned them with a brass brush 363193.jpg
I think those were mounted on US models.
