idle speed

Hi all, I am having problems with my idle speed i cant get it to idle below about 1100rpm when warm. I have adjusted the idle screw to no effect. Return springs appear to be in good order. The previous owner has fitted another spring to the rocker cover so must be an on going problem.... Any ideas

Air leak, split diaphragm in one of the carbs?

Yes, undo dash pot screw tops and just leave them in place , rev engine and see if they both lift together at the same pace.

Might be an air leak somewhere else though, one of the vacuum hoses split may be.

Hello, first put off one trottle linkage, then adjust the idle screw of each carb seperately to synchronise idle for each carb. For that use a sync Tool. Then correct the linkage lenght exactely, use the adjustment screw at one of the trottle links.
