            what they ^^ said

Only thing I can add is get the brakes together, bleed them and get them adjusted by stamping on the brake pedal before messing with the handbrake cable.

When I had some dodgy adjusters, I changed one side at a time and stamped on the brake pedal so that you can hear the adjuster clicking up on that side as it adjusts. if you do both wheels at once, you can't be certain that both have adjusted. Doing one at a time means that you hear that satisfying clicking sound on each wheel independently.

                    Hi all,
I'm getting my Mk2 ready for MOT after 2 years off the road. The brakes work fine but I'm taking the wheels off and checking pads, hoses, shoes and generally looking for any leaks or issues. I removed the rear offside drum and everything was fine but I had a hell of a job getting the drum back on. Now, with the wheel back on, it is very hard to turn it either way by hand. It was free before I took the drum off.

What might I have disturbed and what is the best way to adjust ?

The rear brakes have ratchet auto-adjusters. The OS one has moved and needs re-setting. If you don't set the Stag brakes up correctly, it won't pass the MOT.

2 screwdrivers used as levers on the adjusters.

A small screwdriver will do the job, but don't go jamming it between the ratchet teeth. They are very fine, and although strong, they can get damaged. Then they won't lock together properly, and could "Jump" under load. Then you will have to buy some of those excellent new ones the Tooling Fund have had re-made!

Just separate the two halves of the adjusters with the screwdriver, the spring on the larger part will pull it back to the 'unadjusted' position.
