Ok, so, took my car out for first decent run today. I bought it last year and have been working on it over the winter.
The problem today is periodic big water leaks into the V. Seems to happen when engine is working a bit, i.e. Doesn't happen at tickover, which is what the tests have consisted of so far.
One of the jobs I did was to replace the water pump casting and overhaul the pump. I'm hoping that it is just me messing up on pump seals or the casting being naff. What confuses me is why it only happens periodically.
Just tested compressions and got 100, 90, 98, 100, 110, 100, 100, 100 for cylinders 1 to 8 respectively.
Ignoring the fact that they all look rather low which I am putting down to my cheap comp meter, what do peeps think of the variation? Should I be worrying about gaskets?
Thanks.
