Has anyone had their Hardtop covered with Vinyl?

I borrowed a hardtop from Arbman Al a few years back and it was covered with vinyl, it was a professional job and looked much better on a white car than a white painted top.
Anyone had this done? or know of a trim shop that could do it. It probably would not cost much more than getting my top sprayed to match the car.

Yes I can remember when you had that hardtop, didn't you cause a momentary concern at a certain safari park when they thought you entered with a soft top!
Its going to be a tough one to find anyone capable these days I would have thought.
My local classic car trimmer would be a good call, but maybe a bit far away from you though.

Ignore the bike slant on his web site, he is old school, just that he has found a lot of demand for re trimming bike seats!

I bought my vinyl from martrim ,ive got to redo the vinyl roof on the sprint

I used to have a hardtop trimmed with black vinyl - looked good on my old white Stag.

Yes it was the SOC national, 2008? I was driving thru the lion reserve when one of the safari jeeps came racing across and wanted to escort me out of the park, I told him it was metal but he didn't believe me until he drove over and thumped on the roof himself!

Very impressed you attempted it. The one I saw had 2 stitched seams running front to back. I assumed this was because you cannot get the cloth wide enough to wrap right over the B posts.

Andy moss (Amrestorations) he did a dolly sprint with a vinyl roof did a really good job.

My hardtop is vinyl trimmed. I prefer it. If it were not trimmed I would probably paint it black.

BTW, had to go back to photos from the mid 1990s !! doesnt often wear its hardtop tbh

My roof has three panels of vinyl with the seam running front to back, or back to front :P

back in the 70's you could buy a spray on vinyl top ,it came its a piece of tape to replicate the seam ,load of cr*p

In the 80's I fitted a black vinyl roof to a Peugeot 104.
I'm not particularly capable but this was an easy and effective job.
