Hi Brian, if you are talking about the spring inside the White casing then I have a spare one, although mine doesn't quite look like yours, but you are welcome to it. I will try to put a photo of it on here.
Paul
Thank you Paul for your kind offer. Sadly it isn't the same spring and may have answered my question as to whether another switch would have the same spring The casing in my switch (Mk1) is black and this may be significant.
What is the difference between the MK 1 and MK 2 switches? I have a couple here - the ones with the white back and the spring that is not the same as yours. Is it possible you could fit a complete mk2 switch, or use the metal housing and spring with the MK1 back?
Now Stagless but have numerous car projects
So many cars, so little time!

Not entirely sure about the differences but believe one may be the number of connected wires (Mk1 has 6). I need to identify the Mk11 switch and look at the possibility of using one of those.IMG_7098.jpg This is the Mk1 arrangement.
I think you will find that the switch terminals and wiring may differ between Mk1 and Mk2 but both switches will fit into whichever steering lock assembly you have in your car. That is to say, either lock will fit any Stag, and either switch will fit into the locks. Only the wiring differs.
Mike.

Mk1 has 6 wires as you say, Mk2 has 4. The 2 extra ones on the MK1 are red and red/green.
Thanks for the help. Managed to get some 1.2mm piano wire and have wound a new spring. Switch works again! All part of the learning process and the fun of owning a classic.
