Heater switch and cigarette lighter connected?

    Hi all,

Trying to pick our groups collective knowledge here...

Does anyone know if the dash heater switch and the cigarette lighter are connected in the wiring?

Both have recently stopped working but fuses are ok and spade connections fine.

Am wondering if joint wiring somewhere worked itself loose.

    Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

Not as standard. The heater circuit is fed from fuse 21-22 and is ignition switched i.e. Only powered when ignition key is in the engine running position. Other circuits in the section include heated rear window for the hardtop and front window winders.
The cigarette lighter is fed from fuse 1-2 on a purple feed which is unswitched by the ignition key -i.e. Permanently live. This fuse also feeds the clock, interior lights and horns.

Grampian Stags site contains the wiring diagram.

Note this is correct for a standard UK spec MkII, MkI may differ, but both circuit diagrams are on the Grampian site.

    Good luck!
