Hi can anyone advise please? I have a mark 2 Stag in amazing original condition, every MOT certificate and a Heritage certificate. My Stag has only done 60,000 from new the valuation certificate is at £22,000. However I really do not like the original light tan( Ambia )coloured interior. Will I devalue my car if I refurbish the interior with a different colour leather??

Hello Brian, welcome to the forums.

There are two parts to your question. First is changing the interior to leather which wasn't the original material, and then the next part is the colour change.

Interiors are easy to re-fit, so I wouldn't worry about values.

Car specs and valuations can be a minefield if you get a prospective purchaser who is keen on absolute perfection and wants a car for concourse competitions. In my opinion, a quality leather interior would not devalue the car, although I would opt for a colour which was one of the options for the age and body colour of your car,

You should be able to match interiors to your car from information in the attached site which another forum member posted years ago.

Hi Brian
My 42k mile Stag is maple brown with chestnut interior.
I would actually prefer a tan interior although it was never offered with maple brown body.
If you are considering a change of colour, I would be interested in either a swap or outright purchase of your interior.

Hi Brian, welcome to the forum. I also live in Lincoln. For info the local SOC meet takes place on the first Tuesday evening of the month at the pub in Thimbleby near Horncastle. Not made it there myself yet but hope to call in over the Summer.
