Hi all , as I am a new stag owner and am enjoying using my car at the moment .
I was wondering if someone could tell me why the ignition light comes on when I pull away

Dazza. This is a seriously rude question, but are you perhaps looking at the petrol low warning light which is right next to it?

I recently put new bulbs in my warning light cluster and now the red low fuel warning light works. The trouble is it starts flashing at just below half way level on the gauge.
I had that recently and changed the fuel sender. Disconnect battery, remove old one. Adjust if necessary (bending wire works as well as using adjuster), job done.

Mine has always flashed at about the 1/3rd full mark, but I have once driven it a few more miles till it became a steady red light and then filled up. Nowadays I make a point of heading for the nearest Petrol Station when it starts flashing where I usually put in €30 worth which takes it virtually to the Full mark.
I don't use my car much and it's always a good idea to keep the tank full, especially in cold weather as it stops condensation forming and rusting the tank from inside out. Luckily water in a petrol car isn't as damaging as in a diesel.
