Steering column thread

Hi all,
I seem to have damaged the upper thread on my steering column, I've ordered a new nut but want to go over it with the tread cutter to be sure.
Does anyone know what size I will need?
I'm very metric and it looks very 'Whitworthy' ta mee😯
