    Hi Dyker,

bullstarz might have some more photos apart from what he has posted on here. Tell us more about your plans, always intriguing to learn about these kinds of engine swaps or restomods.

    Cheers,
    Joakim

Hi Joakim, just going to put the standard Ls400 in my stag that I am restoring . I didn't,t have an engine that was much good when I bought the car so just right to put in something different. Do you have any idea how I can get hold of some photos from Bullstarz.

        Try here Dyker
Follow the progress of a major restoration, look at a big overhaul task, see how to modify a Stag

Sounds interesting! Are you going to try and get the original ECU to work, or are you planning on fitting an aftermarket unit? And are you going the drysump route or are you considering modifying the front crossmember to get the engine to sit low enough?

Do upload some photos and further comments as you get cracking on this project, it's something I've been pondering about myself as my original engine is quite knackered...

You can also try to PM bullstarz if the link Glenn added doesn't give you enough detail.

          Cheers,
          Joakim

I think a Chevy LS3 motor would go nicely in a Stag. If I did not have the correct engine for my own Stag, I think I would look for one of those, although the Lexus motor is a peach.

True, it's an option I'm considering as well, although the Lexus option is cheaper at least initially (I believe the ideal engine version would be the 1uzfe from an SC400 instead of the LS400, but they are pretty rare and obviously more expensive). The LS1 or LS3 should though be marginally easier to fit as I seem to remember that the oil pump is at the back of the engine and thus shouldn't foul the front crossmember.
