Starter motor swop for Wosp Hi-torque

After decades of click nothings, extra earth leads, by-pass relays, it was time to try a new replacement completely.
Not keen on a 'rebuild' it had been so called reconditioned before, so this afternoon fitted a Wosp hi-torque replacement.
    Old one came out okay.
    Having tubular manifolds helped greatly.
Could get in between the 6 & 8 so no need for a long extension bar arrangement for the top bolt.
Didn't have to remove the exhaust link pipe either.
New Wosp fitted no problem, however, it is 'upside down', the solenoid is at the top, and motor at the bottom.
I don't know if this is correct, but it would not fit the other way around.
Again, per picture below, can easily get to the terminals from the top between 6 & 8, but not sure if you have standard cast manifolds this would be as easy.
The click nothings have gone for good hopefully now!
I've kept the by-pass relay, and I have bought a diode circuit to re-instate the 12v to the coil during cranking, but haven't fitted that yet, but started okay with 6v to the coil.
Not sure about the noise it makes, certainly different that is for sure!

Your looks the same as mine that I fitted with the engine out of the car. Bought mine from "Robsport". I will quote their fitting instructions. "You will notice your new Torx started motor only requires two connections to make it operate. Do not connect the smallest wire (boost wire from coil), just tape it up out of the way rather than cut it off, as in the future someone may wish to fit an original type started motor" end of quote...Yes it's bloody noisy but mine has been working OK for five years.

Thanks for the reply. The Wosp instructions say the same however they also say the 12v to coil during cranking terminal can be supplied fitted if requested....bit late when you have the starter motor in front of you and you are reading their instructions!!
As said, I have bought the little diode circuit from another supplier to re-instate the 12v 'coil boost'. Might not need it, but for a few quid rather keep it.
