ebay: from China, from Hong Kong....

    Hi all

the website "triumph stag" in ebay is floodded with cheap parts from China/Hong Kong. Two questions:

    1) Is there a way to block or filter ebay-ads with these locations?

    2) Has anyone ordered a/or several of these parts from Far East and if so which experiences did you make?

BTW: I do not belong to the group of buyers who have a negative opinion of Chinese parts w/o having seen/used them!

On e-bay UK there is a bit on the LH Side where you can restrict the Item Location.
    UK Only(selected)
    European Union
    Worldwide

I have tried that, and it doesnt work for some reason. China parts always seem to get under the radar on Ebay. M

        Hi Klaus

It's difficult identifying exactly where the supplier is really based. I recently purchased an item from an eBay supplier that stated it was based in the U.K. but it turned out that the goods were actually in China.

You can specify UK or European Union or choose 'x' miles from your postcode but if the supplier isn't being overly honest that may not work.

I now now check the 'expected delivery date' that the supplier quotes. If it's 3-7 days, I assume that it's coming from the UK but if it's 6 - 8 weeks, I assume it's from the Far East.

        Be careful and good luck.

        Best regards
        Paul.

I have tried European Union now and it worked! Many thanks.

Any answer concerning question no 2?

There isn't much choice these days though, irrespective of the sellers location.
Most parts are being made in low cost countries & many of those with low level quality / quality control

unless it is used old stock I tend not to bother with ebay.

Yes I know that Tony Hart and Robsport use ebay and they are the ONLY exceptions for anything new.

Are there any other ebay traders for newstock that I need to add to my list?

.... but in 21 months you won't find many Stag parts!
                The answer isn't 42, it's 1/137
