spotted that a few months ago, the cut and shut is alive and well downunder.
Its dam hard to get parts for our choice of classic down this neck of the woods.
Been folowing your progress down under too i lost my log in so been not able to post, man what a job your doing Buce looks flipping great.:dude:I need to ask how the heck did you get all the jack marks out of the floor and outriggers it looks so smotyh under there. Or did you pull and fill.
Keep up the posts and pics they are a real inspiration.

Thanks for the compliment. I was lucky in that the shell does not have any jack marks in the sills or outriggers. There were a few large dents in the floorpans which were dealt with by drilling and pulling.
How about posting some photos of your car?
That cut and shut stag gives me the chills.

Not an expert but I would say if it was done properly then it would probably be as strong as any other 30 odd year old car, stronger than some more rotten ones I would imagine. I guess the problem comes having the joint at one point across the car should it have a serious accident?

Thought I'd comment on the fantastic photo album!
Having reached the stage were bits and pieces can go back together, it's nice to almost have a blow by blow reference to the order of re-assembly. I wish digital cameras were available when I took mine apart! Yes, it was that long ago.Memory and lost notes not so good anymore :?.
Anyone have a detailed portfolio of a rebuild in the correct sequence, or know where even a written one can be found?
