    Sydney Stags, where are you?

Five years ago when we were in Sydney, we were almost tripping over Stags, one even parked opposite where we were staying.

This time however, zilch. We have driven along the roads to all the Northern beaches, along the Steyne at Manly (good posing road). Around Sydney today and nothing, not one Stag sighted in ten days. Is it to hot for Australian Stags?

Plenty of SAAB, Audiand Mercedes rag tops, even tagged on to a mini convoy of Mustangs, but no Stags.

I'm getting withdrawall symptons, may have to come back to UK in January just to look at my Stag (will have to anyway as I have an APEX ticket!)

Happy New Stagging Year anyway to all.

    Keith.

Withdrawal symptoms! Best stay in OZ and look at some pictures of Stag's, as the weather is bloody freezing in Kent.......

      Hi Rob,

Actually, it rained here yesterday afternoon, even though it was 25C. Didn't make much difference to most of the ragtops here as most seem to drive with the tops up and aircon on.

Cold in Kent? Oh well, suppose I'll have to make do with a tinnie on the beach today and try to forget Stags.

Hi Keith, yes it is white but not with wire wheels so... there must be more somewhere in Sydney!Mine is an interesting story as the guy who had it in Sydney had starting problems for the 10 years he had it. And sure enough they continued when I got it to Perth.Previous ownerhad many mechanics look at the problem - had the carbys rebuilt twice, new coil, new fuel pump, etc etc. After getting stranded out on a rainy day in Perth I swore I would find the problem. It had Lumenition fitted and I was starting to suspect that was the problem as it was one of the few things that had not been replaced. I checked a few voltages and found the 12v supply for the lumenition was being taken direct from the coil +ve and on the Lumenition web site it specifically says donot use that point as the 12v feed. So I found a 12v feed on the fuel pump inertia switch, wired it to there and it immediately started as has not failed since. Got the Stag at a good price because of this problem and the car is in well above average condition.

Oh my God chaps, the only reason we came to Oz again was because last year (2007) I bought a second Stag and this was 'ér indoors' compensation.

What would it cost me to buy another Stag in Australia with only a week to go before we leave, not the cost of the car, I mean the ádditionals'?
