Whitewall Tyre Inserts

I am going to have to change my tyres sometime soon (they are 17 years old, but still legal),
and when I do I would like a new set of whitewall tyre inserts as well, as the current ones are starting to tear.

"Bravado Automotive" were where the original ones came from (of Addlestone, Surrey), but no longer seem to exist.

Who sells them now, can anyone tell me?. I want 14" ones again as I will be sticking with 14" wheels, but I may decide to change my Allycat Rallye Alloys at the same time, as they are older still, but I will look for new Alloys & Tyres here in Tenerife.

I understand these can be very dangerous ,if they slip as the wheel goes around ,wearing the tyre wall .

Many scooterists will not fit them because of this danger ,which is hidden.

best to buy whitewall tyres ?

I think it's down to how well you fit them. Not had any problems with mine in 17 years of use.
Not sure if they do whitewall tyre inserts, or whitewall tyres in Tenerife, going to have to make some enquiries,
as I have seen a few "Classics" here with them on, and I like them.

Yes please and I will give them a ring, and if I do decide to swap Alloys when I put on some new tyres,
I quite fancy the ones shown on the black Stag in the picture below (is it Stagmuffin's Stag?), where would I get some from?.

They fell apart after a year, I fitted proper white wall tyres. I hope anyone driving on 17 year old tyres are nowhere near me, they are an accident waiting to happen Insurance policies state you have an obligation to maintain your vehicle in a safe and roadworthy condition. Tyres have a date code for good reason, Safety. unsafe tyres can kill people, road users and pedestrians.

That is the first time I have seen that Stag, and I have to say that I like it - unusual for me if non- standard. Does it have a standard TV8?

I've seen the scuffed tyres ,so it makes sense to me .I had already bought 4 for my scooter ,and after seeing the scuffs' never fitted them .

It's marginal with 10 inch wheels ,any thing which could make it less safe is a big no no .
