    Newbie Saying Hello

    Hi All
Just joined the forum and going to join the club as well. My background is in restoring Bikes and this is my first go at a car restoratyion so it's going to be a bit of a learning curve. My Stag is a 74 MkII in White, when I got it it was what I would call a ten footer. It has a solid engine but the diff needs attention and it has a couple of oil leaks that are going to have to be looked at.
My first concern was with the body so I've had it painted, the wheels have been diamond cut, and it is currently off the road as I put the re-chromed bumpers on and fit the seats and hood which I've refurbished
Here's the car before I started on it.

Here is the engine bay now

Sorry despite years on Forums I can't work out how to post pictures directly here rather than as links

Looking good Malcolm and a good move to join the Forum. Plenty of help on here, whatever the issues. Oh and best colour too, but you'll soon see the dissenters and misguided people!

        Hi Malcolm and welcome!

Nice looking Stag you've got, look forward to reading more about your trials and tribulations with the jobs you are planning on doing. Plenty of sound advice and opinions on here, so you've come to the right place.

        Cheers,
        Joakim

          What colour?

BTW, Welcome Malcolm and your pictures work well - they are correctly embedded and not just links.

            Welcome Malcolm,

Nice motor - defo the right colour. I'm based in Hexham and would be up for a meet and drive out - always good if there's a nice cafe or pub involved Feel free to Private Message (PM) me. There's a drive out organised with North East Classic & Pre-War Autos (NECPWA) next Tuesday evening @ 19:00, starting off from a layby close to the East Gate of Gisforth Park Racecourse and https://www.wyevalegardencentres.co....gosforth-2171/ . Come as my guest - we have a nice drive and usually get to a reasonably priced eatery for ~20:15. Last month we had 3 Stags, including another white one.

Welcome. What bit are you going to tackle first this winter?

Welcome, Malcolm! Yours looks like a fabulous example of the glorious Triumph Stag.

As above, what is on your list of chores on the car?

+1 re engine bay paint! Welcome Malcolm, I'm relatively new here as well and this is my first classic car. I have restored the dash, interior, changed timing chains, swapped engines, and am now completely rebuilding a motor. Like you, I'm a biker and have restored many varieties and there are lots of old indian tricks learnt along the way which apply to four wheels too as I'm sure you have found! You'll find lots of help here.

                      Regards

                      Mark
