Front 1/4 light spindle clip bolt

I am replacing the front 1/4 light seals. I struggled to get it apart but now can't get the quarter light and stem to reinsert in the door frame. I don't want to use too much force and risk breaking the glass or damaging the glass frame. The manual says to slacken the bolt holding the spindle clip but how? I eventually found it using a video inspection camera but cannot access it with a spanner. I have considered running a holesaw through the inside door frame. Any thoughts or suggestions appreciated.

I'll answer my own question. I put a small holesaw through the frame and got to the pinch bolt. small socket on the nyloc nut but the bolt is not captive and the whole lot turned and achieved nothing. Bl' Murphy. Next trick was to run a 9.8 mm drill down through the spindle clip and opened it out. The spindle then fitted. refitted the new seal and reassembled it all. Painted the area the holesaw affected. All OK.

Good work, Ian! Glad you got it sorted. Do you have any photos illustrating the work?
