New constant velocity shafts for the Stag as advertized in SOC magazine ??

    DSCF8085.jpgDSCF8089.jpg

Yesterday was not a good Stag day, as my new 12 months ago half shaft U joint "exploded" with the pictured results. The first thoughts in my head was thank goodness that it happened yesterday, as my wife and I had led 19 other Triumphs [3 Stags] on a 11 day 2,602 mile journey all around the world largest fresh water lake Lake Superior, 1/2 in Canada and the other half in US, which would not be good for sure, this explosion at least was only 20 miles from home. I decided that the new constant velocity shafts advertized in the SOC magazine may be the best option long term, but they of course are on back order and I was wondering if they are supplied by any other supplier in the UK that I may try??.

Does anyone have these CVJ fitted to their Stag or does anyone have knowledge of anyone who has gone ahead and fitted them???

I bought a complete set from Robsport approximately 3 months ago and very pleased with them so far. They do actually look very much like the CDD ones mentioned by redstag.

I looked at a set too at RS when there recently and they are made by CDD and definitely the best option - not cheap but you get what you pay for. I'd fit them if I needed new shafts and hubs.

I also went the Robsport route when one of my original driveshafts started to fail (You could have fried eggs on the centre of the wheel it got so hot)
Decided that rather than replace both sides with standard shafts, I'd pay the extra and go for the CV driveshafts.
I believe that the 'clonks' disapeared and, although I'm no Lewis Hamilton, I think that it drives better than before.
Overall VERY HAPPY with the shafts and with Robsport's fitting and price.

              Best regards

I fitted these units about a year ago. Got mine through E J Wards. Really pleased with them.
Great service / support from both company direct and E J Wards as usual.

Interesting that the units from CDD are 'only' 840 pounds per pair, whilst the ones from SCParts are 590 pounds each !! I had ordered a pair from SC but found out when I called them that they were on back order for atleast 4 weeks, found a source in the US and I should have them by next week. Pity that I moved to quickly as the CDD ones would have saved me $540 Can.
Now I will be able to attend British Car Day in September here in Toronto where we will have 1400 plus British cars on the field including a double decker bus made in the UK by Dennis for our Provincial transit system,so it qualifies. This show celebrates its 30th anniversary this year and it is the largest British Car Show in North America, and I did not want to miss it as i was at the very first.

Think you've got to add Vat,that makes them £1008 per pair,if I've read their site right.

When parts from the UK are sent abroad there is no GST charged, and luckily here in Canada if they are marked 'parts for a car over 25 years old' they do not attract import duty, so the 840 Pds would be the cgarge plus shipping of course.

You can get them made from scratch, far stronger than anything on the market. These are on my Stag.

Good Parts make an excellent CV axle. Too pretty to put on a car, though.
Got them on my car, work beautifully.
