    Electric fan

    Hi
I am thinking of fitting an electric fan to my stag
i am looking at the 16 inch spal fan that replaces the viscous one
or would you fit one in front of the rad and keep the viscous as well
on the spal website they say that suction fan is more efficient than the blower fan

I run the Revotec system with their standard 14" pusher fan, I have removed the viscous fan.

On another classic I run a SPAL pusher fan with no engine driven fan.

IMHO, keep the viscous, it keeps underbonnet temps down at low speeds when the leccy fan is not running.
Header tanks - you can't beat a bit of bling.

I am running a 2spd blower Kenlowe with a dual temp switch and manual overrides for both speeds, TR6 air dam, no viscous.

+ 1 for keeping with the original viscous fan. If yours is faulty good new ones still available, e.g. via Leacy Classics for under £100.

I installed the revotec fan two weekends ago. Works perfectly. Leave the viscous fan on, you don't want the elec one running all the time.
That said my interceptor has two elec fans only (they all did) and its engine generates a lot more heat ! Yet the fans only come on intermittently. Either when not moving or after turned off ( for a short period).
Stag elec fan should also be wired up to operate once key is turned off. Like many cars today.
