Exactly, for people like me :-)
Replacing the ignition switch, did you replace the loom or only the switch to fix your issue?

    Kind regards

"Autosparks is the only company I'm aware of supplying these, but you'd need to check compatibility with them, otherwise replace both sides, You may need to "gain" a bit of extra length to compensate the bits you cut off."

Thx for the recommendation will give them a call today.
This connector is really very tired :-)

The switch comes with a short loom and plug so it's a quick swap although I found the wiring a little too short and mentioning on here other es had found the same. I had to try and gain a couple off inches by slightly re routing it.

Scotchloks are great for introducing high resistance by corrosion, not making proper contact or even cutting the wires of parent cable, and should not be used especially under the car. I guess the PO bodged an immobiliser to isolate starter.
Wire turned out not to be a PO bodge for an imobilizer rather another bodge as the wire has broken from the plug and PO just fixed the cable on the opposite side of the plug rather than fix the pin. Was getting confused by the yellow / purple wire also on the plug which is for the overdrive switch for those with a manual box.

Got to learn a little bit more on this car . Thanks for the help and advice.
